Dinner Time
30x48 Oil on Newspaper Covered Canvas
Original painting by Teresa Haag.
Framed in black float frame.
STORY
There was a baseboard heater that lined the length of the yellow and black ceramic tiled wall in the kitchen of the house I grew up in.
I’d spend hours after school playing outside in the snow with the kids in the neighborhood.
One by one, windows would fog up from dinners cooking on on hot stovetops.
One by one, moms would call out from cracked open front doors.
And I’d head in, strip off the heavy wet layers and line the hats and gloves on the base board heater in the kitchen.
